Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: Mei Ng.

Year 10 Business is a half-year course. This course will build on the skills developed in the Yr 9 Social Studies topic on “People’s allocation and management of resources and people’s participation in economic activities”. As well as further developing their personal financial literacy skills, students will also start to develop business financial and decision making capabilities. The context for this will be producing a product with an emphasis on costing and pricing. The course is a project-based learning experience which provides an understanding of business functions, the marketing mix, advertising strategies and entrepreneurship. Students may work in pairs or small groups to develop and produce their Market Day products. The course will develop critical thinking skills, entrepreneurship and creativity.
