L2 Elementary Woodwork
Subject Description
Teacher in Charge: David Eastwood.
Make a take home project and complete assignment work related to your practical work. Projects in L2EWD are more advanced than Level 1. Students will develop advanced fine woodworking skills and learn how to plan and monitor the manufacturing of their projects. This course is for students who take pride in achieving high personal standards; want to develop knowledge of trades and the opportunities in the construction, cabinetry or furniture industry available beyond school.
Pre-requisites: Pass US24352 safe work practices, or with HOD approval

Subject Overview
Term 1
Establish and record safety processes.
Establish and record materials to be used in project.
Draw plans of cupboard.
Select materials.
Term 2
Develop planning and monitoring of project documentation.
Begin construction of Cupboard carcass. Measuring and marking out
Term 3
Construct cupboard and drawer, complete cabinet carcass.
Document planning and monitor processes used in cabinet construction.
Term 4
Finish Cupboard
Add selected timber finish to Cabinet.
