Subject Description
Teacher in Charge: Abigail Parsons.
In Level 1 Dance students will develop choreography skills, creating dance sequences to communicate a variety of ideas, themes or moods. Students will expand their current movement vocabulary through learning a variety of dance sequences and exploring a variety of styles. Students will refine ensemble skills in a group dance work and learn to view and respond to the work of others.
Pre-requisites: One curriculum assessment in 10DAN/10DAD at level 4A or above, or with LOLA approval

Recommended Prior Learning
Students should have some prior experience/exposure to dance. They should be open to performing as this is a performance-based subject area.

L1DAN can lead to career pathways that include (but are not limited to) dance teaching, performing choreographing etc.

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
