Subject Description

English is a compulsory subject at Year 11.

Over the course of the year, you will:

  • Learn to identify parts of speech, grammar, and language techniques and explain their effect,
  • Read, study, and respond to a wide range of written texts,
  • Craft and polish your own writing,
  • Develop self-management skills including selecting your own text to study, identifying errors and places to make improvements in your own writing, completing practice work in order to practice the skills needed for assessment.

This course offers 20 credits across 4 standards (two internals, two externals).

Stationery requirements: 2 x 1B5, 1 x A4 refill, 1 x A4 folder or Clearfile.
