Subject Description
Teacher in Charge: Alex Eastwood, Scott Collins.
- In order to support our athletes, students need to establish their aspirations so we can support them as they strive to achieve on and off the field.
- Athlete wellbeing and athlete wrapping, based around the concepts of nutrition, mental health, physical health, performance and sleep
- Concepts of Talent: Understanding the nature of talent, how it can be identified, nurtured, and developed across different fields.
- Leadership and Character: Exploring the qualities that define effective leadership and strong character, and how these traits can be used to inspire and guide others.
- Performance Development: Learning strategies and techniques to enhance individual and team performance through goal setting, feedback, and continuous improvement.
- Training plan development: Creating training plans to develop skills in their sport. Students will use techniques to review the process used to create the training plan to make them better for next time.
Pre requisites: Played sport for one full season for OHS in 2024 or with Physical Education teacher approval
Material fees: Students need to have a junior physical education uniform
Recommended Prior Learning
Students need to have participated in a sports team in 2024, at Onehunga High School for a full season.
