Subject Description
Teacher in Charge: Anthony Keung.
This course has a focus on achieving social competence in Te Reo Māori. This means being able to use Te Reo Māori to communicate in familiar social situations. Our familiar, everyday worlds of home, school and the marae provide the context for developing language knowledge and skills. Completing this programme will enable you to enter into NCEA Level 2 Te Reo Māori.

Pathway
Te Reo Māori is useful across a range of careers. It will give you a distinct point of difference to other graduates. Many New Zealand employers want to hire people who have at least some knowledge of Te Reo Māori. There are also many Māori and iwi businesses that rely on fluent Te Reo Māori writers and speakers.
