Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: Alex Eastwood, Bryce Griffiths.

  • Level 2 Physical Training and Sport focuses on developing students' understanding and application of various principles and skills within physical activity contexts.
  • Level 2 Physical Training and Sport places a stronger emphasis on practical application and skill development within the context of sports and physical training.
  • The course emphasises the importance of social responsibility, encouraging students to demonstrate leadership, self-direction, and reflective practices based on Hellison’s Social Responsibility Model.
  • Students explore the relationship between biophysical principles—such as sport psychology and training methods—and the learning and performance of physical skills.
  • Practical application is a core component, where students perform physical activities at different skill levels and engage in risk management strategies for outdoor activities through white water rafting.
